Our Rooms

Our rooms are designed to provide a comfortable stay for singles, couples and families. Pets are welcome with a $20 per fee per night. Please note cancellations are required 72 hours in advance of stay or the room is charged at full price. We appreciate your patronage and understanding.

Root Beer Falls Room

ROOM 1 (UPSTAIRS)

One Full Bed and One Twin Bed/Sink Only

This is the nickname for Tahquamenon Falls, as the amber color resembles a cascade of root beer tumbling down into Tahquamenon River.The color comes from tannins from the cedar, spruce and hemlock swamps.

Fox Den Room

ROOM 2 (UPSTAIRS)

One Full Bed and One Twin Bed/Sink Only

The Fox Den was a Hulbert motel and restaurant back in our area’s heyday of the 60s. The motel was owned and operated by our great uncle’s family.

Yooper Room

ROOM 4 (UPSTAIRS)

One Full Bed/Sink Only

The Upper Peninsula is our favorite place in the world, and we had to give it special recognition! The room is adorned with unique Yooper items to immediately know if you are from the U.P.

Black Bear Room

ROOMS 5 & 7 (UPSTAIRS)

One Queen Bed and Two Twin Beds/One Full Bath (Two Connecting Rooms)

Named after our favorite bear (and the only type you will find in the U.P.), this room boasts a cozy retreat with a queen bed and two twins, as in a mama bear and her two babies!

Northern Lights Room

One of our spectacular sights of the U.P., we toast the aurora borealis with this room accented with greens and blues similar to the spectacular sky display.

Bunkhouse Room

James Shepherd Parrish moved his woodenware factory to Hulbert in 1919. Our Bed and Breakfast originally served as a bunkhouse for the workers of the mill.

Big Bear Logging Room

ROOM 9 (UPSTAIRS)

This room’s name has special meaning to us. Tony’s grandfather, Gerald Pangburn, ran the Big Bear Logging Company in Hulbert. The theme is all things logging!

Winter Wonderland Room

ROOM 10 (UPSTAIRS)

Two Full Beds/One Full Bath

Hulbert and the surrounding area exemplify a winter wonderland. This room creates a magical winter vibe while keeping you cozy and warm.

Patriot Room

ROOM 11 (UPSTAIRS)

One Queen Bed/One Full Bath

Decked out in red, white and blue, the Patriot Room salutes the patriotic sentiment of the good ol’ USA. The room also pays tribute to the local men and women who have served in the military.

Hunter Room

ROOM 12 (UPSTAIRS)

The Hunter Room pays homage to our Great Great Uncle Johnny and Aunt Nellie Hunter. They were the first of our family to be associated with the building, when they acquired it from the Parrish Bowl Mill.

State Room

ROOM 14 (UPSTAIRS)

The Great Lakes State deserves a room filled with all our state symbols. From the White Pine Deer to the Apple Blossom, the State Room celebrates the 26th entry into the Union.

1919 Room

This year is special to us, as it was when our structure was built. Resplendent with vintage decor of yesteryear, the 1919 Room lets you relax in style and comfort.

Trapper Shack Room

Two Full Beds/Full Bath

Trappers captured fur-bearing animals during winter in our area. Due to the remoteness of the shacks, trappers lived a life of solitude and self-reliance.This room features elements of the area, including otters,eagles, trout and streams.
